Kyra M. Sedgwick (born Kyra Minturn) is a popular American actress and television personality. Her character as lead in the TV show "The Closer' is known all around the globe as well as in America particularly. Sedgwick had a passion for art, Broadway and performing since the age of 12. Her mother had a great interest in the Broadway and brought her into it. It was at the age of 16, Sedgwick received her first professional acting role in the television series 'Another World'. The first TV roles she had were not big, however she was much more interested in becoming a famous actor. In the movie "Born during the 4th of July", in which Tom Cruise also starred, she made headlines for the first time on a big screen. Sedgwick's flawless performance on The Closer's seven-season drama" brought her many awards which included an Emmy as well as a Golden Globe.
